Meet Dr. Diaz

Ivette M. Diaz, D.D.S.

Dr. Ivette Diaz is a special kind of dentist. With her unique charm, she gets children excited about their dental care, helping them to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

While earning her doctorate from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Dr. Diaz learned that she had a special connection with her young patients. A fluent speaker of Spanish and a student of French, she then took a rare opportunity to earn a Post-doctoral Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. After finishing her advanced studies, she returned to Texas, becoming certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Her continuing advanced studies in pediatric dentistry, especially in the areas of child behavior management and sedation dentistry, enable Dr. Diaz to provide comprehensive children’s dental care. But most importantly, she takes the time to get to know each child personally, communicating with parents and children to create a lifetime of great smiles.

From January 2018 to May of 2020, Dr. Diaz was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center.  She worked both with undergraduate students as well as the pediatric dentistry residents. Due to the COVID pandemic in 2020, Dr. Diaz decided to return full time to her practice to navigate the pandemic, but she hopes to go back to teaching at the dental school in the future.

Dr. Diaz and her husband, Dr. Manuel Diaz, an oral maxillofacial surgeon, reside in Clear Lake with their two sons, Manuel and Gabriel.  In their free time, the family likes to enter 5K runs around the city and try new restaurants around Houston and the surrounding areas. In her free time, Dr. Diaz loves to do Pilates, cook, study French, and attend sporting events.

Dr. Diaz is always continuing to educate herself bringing new procedures and practices to the office she feels will benefit her patients.  She likes to run the practice as green and eco-friendly as possible, making her practice as paperless as possible and offering Flowater to patients and staff to reduce plastic and paper consumption.  In addition to pediatric dentistry, Dr. Diaz also practices laser dentistry.  She uses lasers for soft tissue surgeries like frenectomies or gingivectomies keeping up with cutting edge technology. She has also incorporated orthodontics into the practice using Klear Aligners with their proprietary material that reduces treatment time, increases patient comfort, and uses minimal to no attachments.

Dr. Diaz loves to help students who are completing their externship in the dental field, need community service in the dental field, or are considering a future in dentistry.  She opens the doors to her office for these special students to come and observe her busy dental office to get an idea if this is a field they are interested in pursuing.  She gets excited when she can help a young person make a connection in a field she loves!
