Sedation Dentistry in Pearland, Texas

Children who are very young or who have a high level of anxiety that interferes with the cooperation necessary for the dentist to perform treatment may require some level of sedation. Conscious sedation is an option for children who are three years and above and are mildly apprehensive. This highly effective method is  administered in an oral form and combined with inhalation sedation using a combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen.

Deep sedation is sometimes necessary for children that are unable to cooperate during dental treatment and may pose a threat to their own safety or to the safety of others during treatment.  This can be due to age, maturity level, or a medical condition, and this option is assessed on a case by case basis.  This will be discussed with the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the patient before treatment to ensure the optimum beneficial outcome.  Our practice utilizes a certified medical anesthesiologist for cases where the patient
